SES Webinar on "The Role of Standards in Bringing Order to the Chaotic Credentialing Marketplace" to Feature Workcred's Roy Swift

5/08/2019

It is estimated that there are more than 650,000 credentials offered in the United States, and yet, there is no standard terminology for describing them. As new types of credentials like microcredentials, nanodegrees, and MicroMasters emerge - with no standards to set a common ground for their development - unique challenges and opportunities arise for standards developers and credentialing stakeholders alike.

Workcred's executive director, Roy Swift, Ph.D., will be the featured speaker when SES: The Society for Standards Professionals, Workcred, and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) jointly present an online discussion on May 15, 2019, examining the role of standards in bringing order to the chaotic credentialing marketplace.

One opportunity that will be considered is whether standards need to be created for various types of credentials. Another is to explore how SES can use different credential types to prepare the next generation of standards professionals.

Register now to join SES, Workcred, and ANSI to learn more about workforce credentials and how they can support the education and training of standards professionals.
